Dual-nature entry. The FDA/EMA-approved product is SCENESSE, a 16 mg clinician-placed subcutaneous bioabsorbable implant for erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP) — NOT a self-injectable. A separate grey-market injectable 'Melanotan 1' is sold unapproved for tanning; doses and safety there are community-derived and unverified.
